I suppose Facebook really is becoming the center of the internet universe. You can now book a hotel through Facebook! Well… kinda.
Design Hotels has a Facebook Fan Page:

Please excuse our Glee layout from PageRage
From the Fan Page you can look up hotels and your travel dates (its on the left sidebar). Continue Reading »
App of the Week: Picasa
I {heart} Google and really love their photo application – Picasa. So you can imagine my joy when I realized there is a Picasa app on Facebook! You go to the application – input your Google account details and then BAM! You have a new tab on your Facebook profile with your Picasa photos!
Any photo I want to share almost always gets posted to Picasa (I have a few non-facebooking friends). So this completely simplifies my ability to share my photos!

5 Indisputable Reasons That You Should Get a Facebook Layout
Before Facebook loyalists get in an uproar – hear me out!
I, too, was deeply annoyed with all the glittering, sparkling, blinking, cannot-read-a-word-on-your-page madness that engulfed Myspace.
It essentially became a contest to see who could make their Myspace Page the least legible and understandable. So I completely understand any hesitations one may have about adding custom layouts to Facebook. But let me say this – Facebook Layotus aren’t Myspace layouts!

App of the Week: Pandora
I have just recently discovered the joy of Pandora. If you don’t know already – Pandora is a streaming music player. You enter an artist or genre and then Pandora finds your music. It then continues to play music similar to what you’ve said you like! You can’t specify songs – but I’ve found that when I pick an artist I like I almost always hear the songs I like! And the best part… I find NEW songs! Its really a great tool AND its a Facebook App. So you can share your new Pandora likes with your Facebook friends.
If you haven’t tried it out already I highly recommend you do so now!
5 Rounds with Facebook and Twitter
The Social Media Battle continues! We saw Facebook TKO Myspace in the previous fight. Now Facebook takes on another competitor!
Today we have Facebook in the Blue corner with over 400 million users and Twitter in the Aqua corner with 75 million users… let’s see who comes out on top today!
Do You Know Who Your Facebook Friends Are?
This couple learned a very hard lesson – one’s Facebook “Friends” may actually be foes.
Facebook is one of the better social media tools as far as privacy goes – but how private your information is depends entirely upon your circle of friends.
A quick glance through my Facebook Friends shows I am friends with people from high school who I only know by name as well as people I don’t know at all – damn the suggest a friend feature! I do have actual friends (people I know in the offline world), family, as well as long lost friends. But what about all those people I barely know or don’t even know?
1) Spring Cleaning
Announce you are trimming the fat from your friends. Its not that you don’t love everyone, but following the updates of all those people can be exhausting! And then start axing people! Anyone you don’t know should be the first to go. Then people you barely know should be weeded through with an eagle eye. Your actual friends and family should be fine. But hey… is there anything wrong with getting rid of that dude from college you haven’t spoken to in 5 years and you don’t care to speak to again? I say not! Its your list, your friends, your people. Who you tell your online business to is entirely your call! Don’t let cyber peer pressure dictate who you friend or don’t friend.
Facebook Likes to “Like”
Facebook alluded to big changes, and here’s the first!
If you are a fan of Facebook’s “Like” feature, you’re going to be so stupidly happy now. Facebook is going to let you “Like” the WHOLE internet!
This new feature will “allow publishers to add a ‘Like’ button to any piece of content on their site.” Big news, right? Well, not if you are a Digger. Digg.com already has this feature. In fact, the entire website is based around this concept of Liking and Disliking news articles. But where Digg is focused on news, Facebook will be about everything on the world wide web.
Our 5 Favorite Facebook Fan Pages and Groups
Uber Popular to Obscure, Funny to Cult-like – we’re sharing some of our most favorite Fan Pages!
TEXTSFROMLASTNIGHT
OMG! If you need a laugh, you NEED to go here! People post their truly funny texts to the wall and its a great laugh in the middle of whatever is boring you. People post the area code of the sender and then the following text. Its great when people post the exchanges – because sometimes you need a little context. The Fan Page currently has just over 800,000 fans – but totally deserves more! Their regular site has the best zingers – but the Facebook Page has great exchanges!
No, I Don’t Care If I Die At 12AM, I Refuse To Pass On Your Chain Letter.
“We’re not going to take it anymore!” Those chain letters just keeping coming and this Fan Page is putting a stop to it… at least in theory. The best part of this Fan Page are the discussion boards. This group of Chain Letter haters sure does love senseless games! Topics like “The last person to post wins!” and “Can we play only answer questions with questions” or “Can we play only answer questions with questions backwards?” Its the best of nonsense and we can’t help but love it! And neither can the 1 million other fans!
Tautology Club
“The first rule of the Tautology Club is the first rule of the Tautology club!” Several Tautology Clubs exist on Facebook, most of which were inspired by the xkcd.com comic. This is the most popular (apparently they failed to realize their numbers would sore if they combined forces). Xkcd being the haven of uber geek humor has spawned one of the most intelligent Facebook pages we’ve seen. The reviews, discussion boards and photos prove that the 4,000 plus fans get it… even if the rest of us don’t.
