As I compiled this list it occurred to me just how clear it is what decade I am a child of…
Uno
I always forget how much fun Uno is! Its just a card game, but its great trying to strategize and outsmart the other players! (I’m not the only one who strategizes, right?) This is a multi-player game, but unlike other multi-player games its really easy to find other players to join in (I’m talking about you Scrabble!). And if the other players bow out or get disconnected, then the computer (or “Robot” takes over). Its great! Although a word to the wise… you have to click on the “Uno” button BEFORE dropping the second to last card. Otherwise you get called out for not calling “Uno!”
Family Feud
I know you can still find Family Feud on daytime TV, but this is so much better! You actually get to answer the questions! And then your friends compete against you in the Fast Money round. I love it!

This is a niche app, but I love the idea! For those of you who don’t know, Etsy.com is basically the ebay version of a handmade Arts and Crafts store. People have their own little “storefronts” where they sell their handmade wares. And some people are making big bucks too! So now there’s an app to add your Etsy shop to your Facebook profile! So just in case your friends don’t know how uber talented you are, you can show them! Its a brilliant extension of a brilliant idea!
Want to add your Etsy shop to your Facebook profile? Get the myEtsy app!
myPersonality is a questionnaire is not like the myriad of personality test floating through the Facebook network. This one is actually used in psychological research and is a simple series of questions about yourself. You can choose to keep your results private or make them public and you can also choose whether to have your results used in psych research or not.
The fun part is the results! The test measures 5 aspects of your personality (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism) and shows how you measure up! It also tells you how you measure up against the rest of the population that has taken the test. I found the results to be extremely reflective of my personality. There may have been one or two minor things that I wasn’t too sure about, but overall it appears to be pretty accurate! You also get the results of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator which is a really popular test.

Okay – I’m fudging it a bit. Groupon isn’t really an application. But it has such a great following and is such an awesome service that I figured it would be okay.
For those who are not familar with Groupon, it is essentially a service that gives its users bulk buying power in order to receive crazy deals. Ranging from yoga and dental services to restaurants, Groupon gives you the opportunity to buy a coupon for services valued at much more than the coupon costs you. Its all sorts of fabulousness and I love it! The really nice part is that there are Facebook Groupon groups for each of the cities Groupon serves. And you know what’s even better?! You can join a Groupon group for a city you are travelling to and get those discounts!! Its a pretty sweet deal as far as I’m concerned.
In order to find your Groupon group just do a Facebook Search for Groupon and your city name. If you’re in a small city, try the nearest metropolitan area.

It looks as though I found myself under some kind of rock last week, because I didn’t know about “Quit Facebook” Day until today. And it was yesterday. And it was a failure.
Hmmmm….
No doubt the trend of quitting Facebook is growing – but all the people that want to quit Facebook will find the can’t. They’ve made it their destination to catch up with friends and family, share photos, post cryptic complaints, say “Happy Birthday,” etc. Facebook is to the internet what happy hour is to the offline world. And its inescapable! While we all get up in arms about Facebook’s constantly changing Terms of Service and the myriad of privacy issues – we still stay. We stay because what would we do otherwise. Email seems like a regression, Twitter doesn’t offer the totally functionality we appreciate in Facebook, Google Buzz is still behind the curve… what else is there?

Its just around the corner! All you soccer fans (or footbal, depending on the country) can show your enthusiasm for the 2010 World Cup with this convenient countdown app!
As someone who is not a faithful fan of the sport, I appreciate this lovely little app. It reminds that the World Cup, which is a huge event whether one is a fan or not, is upon us. And it also reminds me that I should be scoping out locations to watch the games! Hey – I know how to be a good sport!

Ummm… BRILLIANT!
You probably haven’t heard of Bartab yet… but you will! Its this fantastic Facebook app that allows you and your friends to give each other drinks for $1.00 that can actually be redeemed at…. wait for it… A REAL BAR! And for only $1.00.
Its simple – you sign up, tell them how you want to receive your drinks, via text message or iPhone (more options coming soon), and then hand over your credit card details (because you do have to pay the $1.00 for each drink) then get going!

The bane of my existence sine Facebook changed their layout has been how to see my contacts. All of them. At once. It used to be easy but their last change has made the search like finding a needle in a haystack! But about 2 weeks ago I was victorious! Turns out you have to “edit” your friends to see them all. And then you have click on the “All Connections” tab on the left. Or you just type facebook.com/friends/.
The other pain for me has been trying to find the applications!!! Before you could just easily go to applications and be taken to a LIST. Ahhh… the simplicity! But now?! Good luck. After many futile efforts I finally realized you can type facebook.com/applications. Now had this been any other website, that would have occurred to me from the beginning. But Facebook doesn’t feel like any other website. Its supposed to feel natural and intuitive. So if I want to see the plethora of applications available I should be able to go to the “Applications” tab. But its not that easy and I don’t know why.
